Lisa Glavan |
Lisa is an advanced certified instructor through IM=X Pilates in NYC. Lisa is also certified through the Pink Ribbon Pilates Program as a Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist. In addition, she has completed the continuing education course work for pre-natal pilates with Debra Goodman, MSPT through the Pilates Method Alliance and is CPR certified. She holds a BFA from The School of Visual Arts in NYC and worked as an advertising copywriter in NYC and NJ for over 10 years.
Bored of the gym and the “gym mentality”, Lisa was looking for another way to stay fit and healthy. Her husband had been struggling with severe back pain and had recently started doing IM=X Pilates mat work. Lisa decided to give it a try too, and was immediately drawn to the challenge of the routine. Over time, she found that her own back issues had diminished and her abs were back to pre-pregnancy shape. Lisa decided to pursue her IM=X Pilates certification after experiencing the amazing benefits. When working with clients, Lisa takes into account each person’s posture, fitness level, age, and goals to create a fun, yet challenging workout. She enjoys helping others through fitness, knowing that the workouts are more than just an hour of exercise, they also help change the way you feel about yourself. When Lisa is not in the studio, she enjoys trail running in Hartshorne Woods and training for half marathons. She also has fun with her husband and daughter playing at the beach, parks, and kayaking in the local rivers. |
Kristin Szlepcsik |
Kristin has been with IM=X Pilates Atlantic Highlands since June 2006. She is an Advanced Certified Instructor through IM=X Pilates in New York. Kristin continues to receive her education from IM=X and enjoys learning to work with special populations, including back pain clients, breast cancer survivors, and sports specific, such as golfers. Along with her IM=X certifications, Kristin is certified with the Pink Ribbon Program as a Breast Cancer Exercise Specialist. She also has a B.A in Marketing and has previous fitness industry experience as a manager/trainer in a women’s fitness club. Before IM=X Pilates, Kristin used to weight train at the gym, which decreased her flexibility and caused tightness in her back. Wanting to get back to her dancer physique, Kristin tried the pilates classes the gym was just introducing. It wasn’t long before she saw tremendous change in her body. Her muscles were longer and leaner, her waistline shrunk, and her flexibility was back to her dancing days. It didn’t take long for pilates to become Kristin’s passion! Kristin takes great joy in seeing the studio’s clients transform and their technique improve. She strives to help IM=X members change their poor postural habits, which in turn, helps them to alleviate the aches and pains they feel in everyday life. When not in the studio, Kristin and her husband are preparing for their first baby daughter to be born! She is thankful for her IM=X Pilates routines during her pregnancy, which have kept her free of back pain and in excellent physical condition. And, after her baby is born, Kristin is counting on IM=X Pilates to get her pre-pregnancy abs back, too! |
Daryl Richardson |
From the age of six years old, her passion for a physical lifestyle began with dancing lessons, which she pursued until after college. She has been practicing yoga from more than thirty years and currently teaches Hatha Yoga. Daryl has studied other branches of Yoga including Jivamukti, and is currently studying Kundalini Yoga. She has also studied pilates for many years, and her love for it inspired her to become a teacher. Since then she has attained her beginner and advanced certifications with IMX pilates. Daryl attributes pilates to be responsible for helping her heal imbalances that she acquired while running marathons, and is happily running pain free these days. Helping others to achieve their physical goals, and improve their self esteem is very gratifying to her. Daryl believes that components necessary for obtaining optimal health and wellness include a balance of physical activity, good nutrition, and a positive mental attitude. |
Kristina Mykytiuk |
Kristina started dancing at the age 2 and continued her dance training through college where she received her BFA in dance education. While majoring in ballet and dance education, Kristina trained in Pilates at the University of the Arts. She first found Pilates back in high school when she suffered from a hip injury. She found it to be beneficial for her injury as well as her dance training. She knew she wanted to continue her training and peruse a future in Pilates. After college she continued teaching dance and mat Pilates. She also taught at a Wellness Center teaching Pilates and fitness dance. Kristina always knew she wanted her reformer certification. She found out about IMX Pilates in 2008 and getting certified was a big step towards a filling future in Pilates. She received her Basic and Advanced certification from master trainer Karin Shelter. Her favorite part about teaching is motivating clients with the great workouts IMX offer. Kristina is a hard worker, always full of energy and always smiling. For Kristina Pilates is a part of her everyday life. Her teaching experiences not only include dancers but a wide variety of people. She believes Pilates should be the core to everyone’s workout. |
