Kristin Carhart, IM=X Pilates Advanced Certified Trainer
Kristin spent many years studying dance with a focus on Jazz. A former cheerleader, she went on to pursue a career in the fitness industry. Using her degree in marketing she was the Sales Director at a woman's gym as well as a personal trainer and class instructor. It was during this time that she discovered IM=X Pilates and noticed that the exercises gave her body longer, leaner muscles than the other forms of exercise she had previously pursued. IM=X Pilates soon became a passion for Kristin and set the wheels in motion for her to devote herself to studying the techniques of IM=X Pilates. Kristin received her IM=X Pilates certification after studying extensively and working with Master Trainers Stella Hull-Lampkin and Karin Shetler. Kristin is quick with a smile and makes everyone feel welcome, from the beginner to those who are excelling under her lead. Not one to rest on her accomplishments, she's continuously striving to learn more advanced IM=X Pilates concepts, and is currently studying IM=X
Super Advanced Pilates concepts which focus on special needs populations as well as techniques and exercises for athletes such as golfers and runners. Be prepared to laugh during one of Kristen's workout sessions, as she's got a great sense of humor. She likes to point out that laughing is also a great way to tone your abs! Kristen enjoys seeing the effects that her classes have on her clients' bodies and minds and she's very proud to have been a part of such positive, life-changing experiences. Kristin also takes great pride in getting to know all of her IM=X clients. By doing so, she's able to judge who can get an "extra push" during a workout session, and who among the group may need a little pep talk along the way. When she's not in the studio training clients, you'll find Kristin out dancing with friends. Not the kind of person to sit still, she loves to go out and have a great time. Kristin is a walking example of why Pilates is so good for the body and soul!

Lisa G., IM=X Pilates Advanced Certified Trainer
After the birth of Lisa's daughter Zoe in 2005, Lisa was determined to find a workout that would help her lose the pregnancy weight she had gained and get her stomach back in shape. Lisa began practicing IM=X Pilates a few days a week and soon found her stomach muscles becoming stronger and her belly flatter.
It seemed a natural progression for Lisa to begin studying IM=X Pilates so that she could help others to tone and strengthen themselves. After studying with Master Trainers in the New York City studio, Lisa earned her certification in the Fall of 2007. Eager to keep learning as much as possible, she continues her advanced studies at the New York City studio with the philosophy that "you can never learn enough!"

Lisa has a BFA from the School of Visual Arts, NYC and in a "past life" she was a copywriter in several NYC ad agencies and NJ ad agencies. Lisa's exercise experience includes many years of on again off again gym workouts. She always found it hard to stay committed because she never really felt truly inspired by traditional workout routines.

Lisa uses IM=X Pilates to help her with her favorite hobby - running. She enjoys running the trails in Hartshorne Woods and the path in Sandy Hook a few days a week and attributes the deep diaphragmatic breathing in IM=X Pilates to helping her with speed and distance. In fact, Lisa's looking forward to running her first half-marathon this May!

Daryl R., IM=X Pilates Certified Trainer
Daryl began studying classical ballet and tap at the age of five and continued through highschool. While in college, she studied Hatha Yoga and continues her practice today. In her early twenties, she studied the Royal Academy Method of classical ballet with a dance master from the Academy. She also studied jazz and modern dance. During her thirties, Daryl became very involved in running and joined the Jersey Shore Running Club. After entering their six month competitive training program, she ran her first marathon. Daryl has spent years running marathons, half-marathons, and competitive races. For eight years, she worked with a personal trainer, nutritionist, and running coach, as well as adhering to the running schedule at the Jersey Shore Running Club. Daryl began biking and spinning, and eventually became a Certified Spin instructor. She began taking floor pilates classes several times a week to help her with her running. A few years ago, Daryl enrolled in a year long Yoga program and became a Hatha Yoga instructor. In addition, she has taken instruction with Barron Baptiste, Rodney Yee, Darma Mittra, David Swenson, and Shiva Rea. Shortly after becoming a Yoga instructor, Daryl enrolled in the IM=X Pilates course of study and became certified in June 2007. Daryl feels that IM=X Pilates has greatly improved the quality of her life, along with correcting some spinal imbalances, sciatica, and hip problems that she was experiencing from years of heavy running. She’s happy to be pain free today and feeling much more physically balanced.

IM=X Pilates founder, Elyse McNergney, studied and was certified by Romana Kryzanowska at The Pilates Studio in NYC before obtaining a certification in the Alexander Technique and two Masters Degrees (M.A. in Movement Science and an M.Ed. in Exercise Physiology at Columbia University). Impressed with the versatility and overall benefits of Pilates-style training, Elyse and her team of Exercise Physiologists created the IM=X Pilates program to reflect the changes and research of today's fitness and rehabilitation markets.
